The Carneros region of Napa County produces spectacular Pinot Noir due to a cooler climate where the thin  skinned grape excels. Months in French barrels this Pinot has a silky, smooth texture with layers of black cherry, spice and a soft smoky, toasty oak finish.

Rex Hill Vineyards Reserve Pinot Noir, Oregon 2003
Located on Rex Hill in Oregon, the grapes for this wine are sourced from 10 different single vineyards. Flavors consist of sweet plum, red and black cherry, blackberry, spice, finishing with good length on the palate.

Santenay is a village within the Côte de Beaune. “Gravieres” is a premier cru vineyard located in the Southern part of Côte de Beaune. Pine tree nose, meaty on the palate, round, supple thick, wet earth, nice acidity, rich cherry, smoked meat.

Ferrari Carano “Prevail West Face”, Alexander Valley 2003
Prevail is a mountain winery estate only producing small lots of red wine. The grapes are grown on Lookout Mountain planted on volcanic soil on steep slopes allowing the tiny berries to ripen evenly, which produces a wine with intense concentration of fruit flavors. The colors used for the label copper, blue and magenta represent the earth, sky and sun respectively, or the soil climatic conditions and sun exposure known as “terrior”. Deep purple in color, earthy, mineral, St. Estephe like in character, nice tannins, ripeness, dried her, cherry, berry, terrior driven.

Tablas Creek Winery Mourvèdre, Paso Robles (Central Coast) CA 2003
Tablas Creek Winery is owned by the Perrin Family who own Chateauneuf du Pape Beaucastel in the Southern Rhone of France. Cherry, fig, mocha, spice, medium to full body, saddle leather, nose of roasted meats, lingering coffee, chocolate and leather flavors with a pronounced mineral finish.

Tamarack Cellars “Firehouse Red”, Columbia Valley 2004
(55% Cabernet, 33% Syrah, 6% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc) Espresso, vanilla, bing cherry, dark berry, smooth lasting finish. The wine label signifies a Tamarack Pine tree that sheds its needles.
