ImageThe Bernards Inn has long been known as the place to choose for an exceptional social or corporate event. I’m very pleased to tell you about a new partnership here at the Inn that will take weddings and other special events from exceptional to extraordinary. In collaboration with nationally-recognized interior designer and lifestyle expert Jeff Haines of Butler’s of Far Hills, we’re introducing our new Signature Style of Entertaining. As I’ve mentioned in previous issues of Inn Happenings, Jeff is the designer responsible for the stunning renovation of the Inn.
Beef. It's What's for Dinner.

ImageHave we got a great night in store for you! On Tuesday, June 3rd the Inn is presenting a very special dining event featuring the exceptional meats of DeBragga & Spitler of New York City. DeBragga & Spitler is the purveyor to many of America’s top chefs. This all-beef dinner will be hosted by George Faison, Chief Operating Officer of DeBragga & Spitler and former co-owner of D’Artagnan, and will feature a special menu created by Executive Chef Corey Heyer paired with a selection of outstanding wines chosen by Wine Director and Sommelier Terri Baldwin.

The dinner is priced at $175.00 per person including tax and gratuity. Reservations are required and can be made by calling us at (908) 766-0002.

Mother's Day is this Sunday!

ImageShow Mom just how special she is by celebrating her day at the Inn on Sunday, May 11th. We’ll be offering a three-course, prix fixe, à la carte menu in our dining room from 12:30pm to 6:00pm. The dinner is priced at $70.00 for adults, $35.00 for children ages 2 to 12 and no charge for children under age 2.

New this year is that we’ll be offering two buffets in the Ballroom. The Grand Brunch Buffet will have seatings from 10:30am to 2:00pm. The brunch buffet is priced at $60.00 for adults, $35.00 for children ages 6 to 12, $15.00 for children ages 2 to 5 and no charge for children under age 2. Our new Evening Dinner Buffet will have seatings from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The dinner buffet is priced at $70.00 for adults, $35.00 for children ages 6 to 12, $15.00 for children ages 2 to 5 and no charge for children under age 2.

Reservations are required. Make your reservation by calling us at (908) 766-0002. Please note that prices do not include alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, 7% sales tax or 18% gratuity.

To honor Mom in grand style, the Inn has limited availability for a private dinner in our stunning Silver Vault and Wine Pantry. Our in-house catering professionals will assist you in planning the perfect event and will ensure that no detail gets overlooked. ImageFor the twelfth consecutive year The Bernards Inn hotel and restaurant have been honored with the coveted AAA Four Diamond Award. This year, the Inn is one of only six hotels and 11 restaurants throughout all of New Jersey to receive this prestigious honor. And, The Bernards Inn is the only establishment in New Jersey to hold a Four Diamond rating for both the hotel and restaurant. If you haven’t already been our guest, come in and experience the gracious hospitality and outstanding cuisine that has earned the Inn this exceptional achievement year after year.

The Inn was also recently honored by the Somerset County Cultural and Heritage Commission with its 2008 Historic Preservation Award for a continuing use property. Sumptuous Spring

Dine and Design and the Mansion in May

ImageThe Mansion in May is an annual designer showcase and fundraising event to support the Women’s Association of Morristown Memorial Hospital in New Jersey. This year the association has selected Froh Heim the elegant Spanish-style estate home in Far Hills, New Jersey. One of the lead designers for the event will be Jeff Haines of Butler’s of Far Hills who also was the interior designer responsible for the stunning renovation of The Bernards Inn.

In celebration of the Mansion in May, the Inn is offering a very special “Dine and Design” package which is available from May 1 through May 31.

Wine, Dine and Jazz with Rio Clemente

ImageThe Bernards Inn is proud to announce a great addition to our already excellent lineup of nightly musical entertainment. Renowned jazz pianist and recording artist Rio Clemente will be tickling the ivories every Thursday night in the Library Bar beginning at 7:00. During his career Rio has performed at Manhattan’s famous Birdland, the Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and the Newport Jazz Festival. So, come on in and enjoy great wine, great food and some great new music.
“Inn Tastings”…Incredible!

Image The Library Bar at The Bernards Inn is a great place to enjoy live piano music nightly and do a bit of people-watching while experiencing the excellent bar menu presented by Executive Chef Corey Heyer. Now, Chef Heyer enhances the experience with his new “Inn Tastings” menu. Inn Tastings are smaller plate presentations of appetizers and entrées selected from the dining room’s ala carte menu. It’s a great alternative when you can’t decide on just one dish. Now you can choose two, three or even more. So, if it’s for people watching, the piano music or a bit of both I invite you to take a seat at the bar, savor a glass of wine from Wine Director Terri Baldwin’s outstanding selection of wines by the glass and delight in our Inn Tastings. Great food, great wine, great music…incredible!
Our New Spring Menu

ImageSpeaking of great food, on Monday March 24th Executive Chef Corey Heyer will be introducing his new spring menu. The new à la carte menu will be designed with some lighter dishes to compliment the warm spring weather. So get ready to chase away the gray days of winter and enjoy the blossoming of a new spring here at the Inn in an atmosphere of warmth and gracious hospitality.
Breakfast Done Right

The Bernards Inn is proud to present our new a la carte breakfast menu created by Executive Chef Corey Heyer. The menu features an assortment of mouth-watering specialties specialties including Bernards Mountain Benedict (poached egg, pheasant sausage and truffled hollandaise on a house made English muffin), thick-cut brioche French toast (grilled brioche with cinnamon-roasted Anjou pears in an orange-clove reduction with warm maple syrup) and our Somerset Morning Basket (seasonal fruit, fresh-baked pastries and assorted jams and jellies). Along with the new menu you’ll be able to make your breakfast reservation through Open Table. Breakfast is served Monday through Saturday from 6:30am to 10:00am and on Sunday from 7:00am to 11:00am. Whether it’s for an early business meeting or a relaxing start to your day come to The Bernards Inn for breakfast done right.
