It was such an honor to participate in our recent event at the James Beard House in New York City. Chef Heyer created the summer New Jersey fresh ingredients menu, and I was happy to pair the wines.
My last blog explained all the food and the wine, but I wanted to share a few pictures from the evening itself. One of the best restaurant critics of food, wine and service of all time was there to support us, my friend Valerie Sinclair. It’s so much fun to talk the biz with those who are experts in the field.
Valerie has written many reviews on the Bernards Inn, and we reminisced on her visits to the Inn in disguise so as not to receive any special treatment while writing her reviews. Valerie is someone I have always admired, respected and looked up to while teaching me a few things along the way. Enjoy the pictures.
