In early September I began restyling the Fenwick Ballroom -- stop in and
take a look at its new sophisticated atmosphere and organic touches. The
room is designed to be versatile in atmosphere, therefore making it
available for a variety of events, both professional and social. The walls
were custom mixed for a natural comfortable non-color, I like to call it
Mellowed Sage. I designed the carpet with a large scale interlocking block
pattern and of course there is the silver touch on the new custom painted
shaded sconces. The whole room has taken on a wonderful air of
sophistication that allows for beautiful linens, chairs, flowers, and
glassware to enliven the space.
I can visualize it being a stimulating environment for corporate business events mocha browns, charcoal grays, and creams create a professional
environment with an urban edge. And for parties and social occasions this fall season I envision an autumnal range of colors quince, wheat, rhubarb,
and pumpkin complement the existing organic flavor of the room. I truly
enjoy having the opportunity to pull treasures and vintage pieces particular to the event and season from my exclusive collections at J. Butler Collection and the Annex at Butlers of Far Hills, my personal cupboard. Here's a good design tip for when you go looking in your cupboard for containers and special pieces -- you can never go wrong going larger. When you go larger you only need a few things to make a great impact.
I would love to chat with you about your upcoming event and incorporating
the Jeffrey B. Haines Signature Style of Entertaining. Before we know it
spring will be here and the new ballroom will look wonderful with touches
from a sorbet palette mango, lime and lemon. I can see beautiful accents
of glass and creamware! I will leave you with this thought it is never too soon to plan for that special celebration!
