Intern Bryna McEntee Every day is different in the hospitality industry. I knew that was the only thing I could count on when beginning my internship at The Bernards Inn. My internship began in the sales and catering office where I saw how a single phone call triggered the entire event planning process. As a sommelier, it will likely come as no surprise that wine dinners are one of my favorite parts of the job. Wine dinners are such an amazing way to experience, enjoy and learn more about wine and food, all within the company of enthusiastic wine drinkers, and more often than not, foodies! In a mere 4 days, two of the rooms on the third floor at the Bernards Inn were striped, painted, wallpapered, carpeted and overnight given a new personality. As the designer for the Bernards Inn, I have named the third floor rooms Metro 14 and Metro 15. When I was selected by the Bernards Inn to reinvent and redesign the guest rooms at the Inn, I developed an intriguing vision for the rooms. It was such an honor to participate in our recent event at the James Beard House in New York City. Chef Heyer created the summer New Jersey fresh ingredients menu, and I was happy to pair the wines.
