Every year the calendar pages turn and then…it’s here!  The holidays, that time from Thanksgiving straight through New Year’s that is filled with joy and yes, sadness.  It is a time of hustle and bustle, a time of reflection on the happenings of the previous months. It is also a time where we can quietly make a difference.  In the season of giving there are a few organizations that you might find very worthwhile this holiday season, here are a few to peak your interest, One Gift, Inc…founded by Anne Delaney and Leigh Porges at www.onegift.org and Gifts That Give, Inc….www.giftst...

It is always an adventure dining out, no matter where you are, for me that is the fun of it.  I do the same things everyone else does…the research.  I search the guides and references on the internet to see what might suit my vacation mood.  My husband Steve and I vacation in Grand Cayman when we have the opportunity.  We are somewhat creatures of habit, we like what we like and tend to stick to it. Postcard julia
Having just seen the movie Julie & Julia with my daughter Ally, I can’t help but smile.  I too share Julia Child’s love of food!  I’ve had a love affair with food my whole life…and having a career in the food and hospitality industry has been absolutely divine!   In my years as a publicist (ten to be exact) I had the good fortune to meet the larger than life Julia Child at the The Book and The Cook event in Philadelphia in 1996.I remember the anticipation as I stood in line, with so many others to meet this amazing icon.   I was so nervous, what would I say?&n...
