Terri Baldwin, Wine Director

Fusing wide-ranging wine knowledge with extensive customer service spanning over three decades, Terri Baldwin is at the forefront with her wine program.


Tracey Mancini, our Senior Catering Sales Manager and myself have been long time co-workers and have always had a very close friendship. We are both very happy to have recently celebrated 17 years of service at the Bernards Inn. Tracey is like a wonderful sister to me, and I look forward to celebrating many more years working with her here at the beautiful Bernards Inn.

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year, and I took this picture last year at an elaborate Halloween party held here at the Bernards Inn. Yes, I am a Michael Jackson fan. I thought it was magical the way he performed and danced, probably the best that ever performed. About once a year, I like to sip wine with cheese on a late Sunday afternoon and watch on DVD the live concert performances from Michael Jackson.  This picture is of course a great Michael Jackson impersonator.  Happy Halloween!

Recently I had the pleasure of hosting a luncheon with a small group of people from the trade with Dennis Cakebread as our special guest. We tasted through the lineup of the new release vintage of Cakebread wines including: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay Napa, Chardonnay Reserve Carneros, Merlot, Cabernet, and Pinot Noir. All the wines showed incredibly well as they were paired with the Chef’s creation of food. A few details that Dennis brought to our attention were: They started making Cabernet in 1974, and in 1973 Cakebread was the most active winery in Napa Valley. They do all night harvesting...

As you may know, Pinot Noir has gained the reputation that it so justifiably deserves, and has been one of the new crazes in the wine world the past couple of years. I really don't know why it took so long for this varietal to catch on. One of the most difficult grapes to grow, very finicky, bruises easily, thin skinned, prefers to live in a very special temperature climate.
