Time to expand your horizons by discovering new wines. And summer is the perfect season to try a special, aromatic summer sipping white--Torrontes Reserve, from Michel Torino Estate, Don David, in Cafayate Valley, Argentina. Torrontes is the emblematic white wine of Argentina and the varietal is getting rave reviews. This is a vibrant, racy white wine that has a unique bouquet, showing aromas of flowers, (actually red roses) along with other floral scents and citrus flavors of lime, peach, lychee and accompanied by  bright acidity that leads to a dry, crisp finish. Opus One has earned a sterling reputation for being one of the best wines in the world, and it certainly is one of my favorites. I’ve tasted and served the wine to delighted guests at The Bernards Inn for several years now, but it was my visit to the winery itself in the Napa Valley that revealed how a wine of such superb quality is produced—with passion, knowledge and utmost care. It was a bright and crystal clear afternoon on the day of our visit to Opus One. The setting was so spectacular as we approached the winery and  it took my breath away. When you arrive, you immediately get the fee...

Spring is finally here but it wasn’t long ago when the winter season’s last blizzard collided with our Silver Oak Wine Dinner. A few facts discussed that may interest you: Daniel Baron has been with Silver Oak Cellars for 17 years, and previously had been with Dominus for 12 years.
